24: - The Bay to Birdwood is the largest, continually held motoring event for veteran, vintage and classic vehicles held anywhere in the world. Entries are open to all original cars, motorcycles, vans, trucks and commercial vehicles built on or after 1 January 1956 and on or before 31 December 1981.
The inaugural Bay to Birdwood was held in 1980 and the event has since become a fixture on the South Australian events calendar. The principal stakeholders of the Bay to Birdwood are the National Motor Museum, a Museum of History SA (NMM) and the Federation of Historic Motoring Clubs (SA) Inc (FHMCSA) and the event’s success can be attributed to vision and ongoing commitment of those key organisations. As a not- for-profit community event, the Bay to Birdwood also relies on the time, dedication and expertise of a large contingent of volunteers who share a mutual passion for the preservation, promotion, enjoyment and sustainability of the historic vehicle movement in South Australia.
